‘This groyne at Overstrand fascinates me for some reason.  Its not unique, there are others very similar elsewhere along this coast.  There’s just something about it. I’ve probably painted this groyne more than any other, it could be the shape, the flints caught between the piles or its location.  I guess anyone who has walked Overstrand beach will remember it.’
