‘Between Cromer and Sheringham is a place called Pretty Corner, and it really is!  Essentially, a large area of woodland on the hill overlooking Sheringham with the sea as a distant backdrop.  I originally painted it because it was suggested to me, but the image has proved popular.  It’s really one of those ‘gazing wistfully into the distance’ pictures, and no problem with that.’
