The sea and the shore line are integral parts of life in North Norfolk, travel east, west or north and you will reach the sea pretty quickly. It’s also a coast full of character, the groynes, flints, cliffs and sea-side resorts add to its charm. These images seek to capture some of that, summer and winter alike.

The pastoral, like the littoral, is also an integral part of life in North Norfolk. The majority of these images are taken from a reasonably small area around where I live, some literally in my garden, but they demonstrate the simple and dramatic beauty of this unspoiled countryside.

Hand Coloured

Based on a book illustration technique of using a single spot colour in a monochrome illustration, these prints are made and then the colour is painted in by hand using watercolour cadmium yellow before the print is mounted and signed.

These little prints have a charm all of their own. I started these maybe six years ago and they have proved very popular. I have always admired woodcuts and wanted to produce images with a similar sharp and clean look. These were the result.
